At TEACH-NOW, our focus is on providing quality teacher preparation that gives educators the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the modern classroom. We understand, however, that many of our candidates are also seeking a teaching license.
In the U.S., teaching licenses are issued by individual states. Each state has its own set of requirements. Frequently, one of the requirements a state has is that an applicant has attended a state-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP). TEACH-NOW is a state-approved EPP in Washington D.C. and Arizona. To find the full licensure requirements for these two states, please click the links below.
It is possible to get a license in a state other than Washington D.C. or Arizona after completing a TEACH-NOW program. Many of our candidates seek licenses in other states and the vast majority are successful in obtaining one. Candidates have also successfully obtained a teaching license in countries other than the United States. However, it is your responsibility to ensure you understand and meet the licensing requirements of the state or country you plan to teach in. In the U.S., this information should be listed on each state’s department of education website. We have a great deal of experience working with our candidates, as well as with state agencies on the licensing issue and can provide information on the process should you have questions.
